Position Announcement: Farm Manager
Description: To be in charge of the production and post harvest care of
vegetables, fruit, specialty cut flowers, and culinary & medicinal herbs on
100 acre non profit organic farm located 20 miles NW of Baltimore, Maryland,
and 1 1/4 hr. drive to Washington D.C. The misision of this non profit is
the alleviation of hunger by the growing and donating of fresh organic
produce to the emergency food agencies that feed the hungry; and by the
running of an accreditied education program in sustainable agriculture.
Requirements: Must have strong background in organic farming, especially in
regard to specialty cut flowers for a commercial operation. Knowledge of
herbs would also be helpful, but not as critical. Must be comfortable
supervising staff and volunteers, and an enthusiastic, hard worker.
