Draft AAAS Paper

From: Charles Benbrook (benbrook@hillnet.com)
Date: Tue Feb 15 2000 - 01:08:50 EST

Friends -- I have been invited to present a paper 2/19 at the AAAS meeting
during a 2-day symposium on ag genomics and biotech. I am the sacrificial
NGO person among 20 pro-biotech speakers.

Most of you are probably pretty tired of reading my papers, but if you can
stomach a quick read, I would welcome your suggestions and comments.
Depending on how people react to this, we will either just revise this and
post it on the site, and call it a day, or, we will put some more time into
it, expand several sections, discuss several more papers, expand the
references and put it out as Ag BioTech InfoNet Technical Report # 2. Let
me know what you think -- good basically as is? Worth the time and effort
to expand?

The paper is in pdf and is accessible in a blind spot on the page at --

http://www.biotech-info.net/AAASgen.pdf

We will finish the revisions of this Friday and post it late in the day
from DC. Please send your comments and thoughts by early Friday via
e-mail; or fax pages with comments to Chuck Benbrook c/o Adam Goldberg,
Consumers Union, fax 202-265-9548.

Mark and Carolyn -- be sure to look carefully at the footnote on page one
where I discuss IATP/SEHN and thank Wallace.
