Further to our phone conversation from Wednesday, please note that I
am = planning an exhibit on sustainable agriculture at our building in
= Whitehorse early May 2000. Could you help us with displays and/or
pictures, ideally poster size, on = following subjects: _ definition
of sustainable agriculture and how we can support organic = farming
with our purchasing decisions - small organic farms/large industrial
farms - how industrial farming and modern meat production burden the =
environment. As concrete examples, the harmful effects of ROUND-UP and
= hog manure to air, bio diversity and ground waters. - how third
world farmers are effected by industrial farming of coffee, = banana
and cocoa. Pictures showing the contrast between large = plantations
and small sustainable operations - highest chemical dependancy crops
such as cotton, strawberry and = grapes, and how people ranging from
farmers to workers at store produce = dept. to consumers are affected.
- P.E.I industrial potato farming and resulting environmental damage =
(such as pictures of large amount of dead fish from last summer)
We would like simple to understand, eye catchy and to the point =
material, if possible. I really appreciate your taking time to support
