I was being sarcastic. My first post I said basically what you said. I was
just using the same logic to point out other equally valid causes cited in
the literature.

I wouldn't be too hasty in proclaiming microbiological etiology for these
inflammatory bowel disorders, or in extrapolating from reas to mammals. The
most parsimonious explanation may be autoimmune etiology, with
suprainfection by any number of opportunistic and weakly pathogenic
organisms.
