I lived in Mexico for nearly a year. Immediately after crossing the border
and eating tacos in a busstop I came down with 3 months worth of severe
GI problems. After recovering I could eat and drink anything anywhere in
Mexico.
I years since here in the US I have had such bad problems eating
supermarket animal products (excepting canned and very limited frozen)
that I don't buy them anymore. After reading the milk thread I understand
this issue much better. Here in Chapel Hill NC large local grocery stores
bought fresh meat from producers out in the county as little as 20 years
ago. Why is this way of doing business becoming so rare these days?
