Could be--we are pretty extreme about our hygiene. But keep in mind that in developing countries, many people live in
environments where food and water are often contaminated by both animal and human feces. These people certainly are not
immune to dangerous bacteria; on the contrary, they suffer frequent and/or chronic illness, and diarrhea kills many,
many children every day.
