The Center for Integrated Ag Systems (UW-Madison) is pleased to
welcome Cris Carusi as its new communications program manager. We are
delighted that she'll be joining us to provide leadership and
direction to the communications portion of the Center's unique
research and communications programs.
In a good fit of tasks and calendar timing, Cris will be leaping into
her duties on 29 February, in time for the Center's spring Citizens
Advisory Council meeting. She is in the middle of transition and
orientation activities at present, and until the time of her start at
Cris is currently the executive director of the Nebraska Sustainable
Ag Society (NSAS). She has extensive experience with listening to
citizens and helping build effective research and action partnerships.
Cris will help us at CIAS move into our second decade of programming
as we strive to increase our effectiveness and better serve our
stakeholders. For example, as some of you are aware, we underwent an
external strategic review in 1998. One of the areas that the review
team highlighted as important for CIAS was that we build our profile
and "come out from under the radar" in FY 2000 and beyond. Helping
the Center build an effective and appropriate profile is just one of
the many tasks that we know Cris will do with vision, skill,
creativity, and energy.
Cris will announce her new CIAS contact information when it is time
to do so. Meanwhile, if you'd like to drop her a note, you can reach
