Please Charlie do not copy the messages to my address, I receive SANET. If you have a question for Fiskars, the manufactures of "Moisture Master" hoses, send your inquiries to

Peter Grayson,

Personally I am not suggesting anything, but if this hoses emit cadmium to the environment, either by water or soil, then the hoses are indeed a health and environmental hazard. What do you think ?

The response Fiskars gave IMO is satisfactory for the time being, but I would like to know if testing was done specifically for cadmium and other heavy metals, and also to know for how long is this plastic coating stable and good for. Since they use grinded up old tires, and manufacturing tires uses cadmium, then there is a true posiblity for cadmium emission.

As I said before, the hoses are very convenient and efficient, but I am a bit concerned for their long term impact in case this PE coating might degrade with time.
