Are there really field pea varieties up here in Canada that will give you
34% protien? We've grown field peas the past two years in a row here in
southern Ontario (even though they aren't common for our area) and both
times the tests have come back at 21.5% protein.
They are fairly easy to grow, and do make good feed. If we had some that
yeilded as well as the varieties we currently grow (Profi and Carnavale)
then we could eliminate our soymeal purchases for hog feed, which is our
only stumbling block towards producing a non GMO fed hog on our farm.
