Hi Greg,

(I am ambivalent about get involved in these things, but... ).

Greg, the point is that eating one way or another may affect *WHEN*
you, I and others will each meet our maker.

Here is my grain of sand:

We eat what we are fed, as children. As adults, what we eat depends on
our tastes, what's readily available, our economic resources, what the
doctor prescribed and rarely, on philosophical principles.

Among those of us who by reason of our nature &/or experience do take
the latter into consideration, some of us evangelize, and some don't.
Once again, I find myself in the latter group (unless asked).

Otherwise, no general, conclusive consensus of opinion (public or
professional) has been reached as yet, regarding the superiority of
omnivorism vs vegetarianism or vice versa, although opinions and
practices abound. Time will surely tell.

While that may have nothing to do with sustainable ag, it does have
it's place on the "sustainable diet" list though, and I'll bet I eat
more local fresh produce than most of you (for the simple reason that
it doesn't freeze here). Ever see a 10 lb pineapple?

I had added another true life hog anecdote (this one with no sexual
connotations), but in the cold light of morning, decided to surpress
it this time.

Happy New Everything (day, year, century & millennium). I plan on
taking it just a the whole world will do: in the same orbit, over the
same axis and center of gravity, and at the same speed as always.
