I don't think they can or should control
what people blend up in their kitchen from natural ingredients. Anyway,
these big companies don't care about that.

The plants include plants we use in organic gardening as companion plants.
Selling and making simple extractives is still a violation of the patent,
whether done on a backyard scale or commercial scale. If they decided to be
really bad, like the Monsanto folks did in Canada, the legal structure is
there.
