CSREES Announces Stakeholder Priorities Website
======================================

CSREES announces the establishment of a website to facilitate easy access to
the priorities of our stakeholders. The site will provide a direct link to
the priority listings of organizations.

These links are provided strictly as a resource that may be helpful to those
working on agricultural issues. Our primary targets are scientific
organizations and commodity, environmental, consumer and other public
interest groups that have established research and/or educational
priorities. We believe this will help faculty and others as they prepare
grant proposals for submission to our programs. This stakeholder website
will be linked to the Funding Opportunities location in the very near
future.

If you know of organizations appropriate to this list, please direct them to
this page and ask them to contact JULIE SIMMONS at jsimmons@reeusda.gov;
Fax: 202-205-3641; Phone: 202-401-6996), Assistant Program Director in
CSREES' National Research Initiative, if they wish to be listed.

Organizations should provide: (1) organization's full name; (2) the website
address where their priorities are listed; and (3) an organizational contact
person. (They should not provide their home page address, but instead a
direct address to their priority listings.)

Organizations should also be apprised that the Stakeholder Priorities index
is designed for organizations, not individuals. Inclusion of an
organization's priorities does not imply an endorsement or certification by
the U.S. Department of Agriculture. CSREES reserves the right not to link
to web sites deemed inappropriate for the USDA's Research, Education, and
Economics mission area. CSREES staff involved in reviewing sites for their
appropriateness to the USDA's mission areas include: Natural Resources -
CINDY HUEBNER, TIM STRICKLAND; Nutrition/Food Safety - MEL MATHIAS, ETTA
SALTOS; Plants - MIKE FITZNER, CINDY HUEBNER; Animals - PETER JOHNSON, BILL
WAGNER; Social/Economics/Markets & Trade - MARK BAILEY, JOHN MICHAEL;
Sustainable Ag - SALLY MAGGARD; Education/Academic/International Programs -
HIRAM LAREW, KEVIN BACON.

If you have other questions about this web site, please contact either PETER
J. JOHNSON at pjohnson@reeusda.gov; phone: 202-401-1896, or WILLIAM C.
WAGNER at wwagner@reeusda.gov; phone: 202-401-4952.
