Y2K RELATED ECONOMIC TRANSITION AND INCREASED NEED FOR
HUMAN SERVICES, EMERGENCY FOOD & SHELTER

How will families across the United States cope with
Y2K related economic challenges into 2001? Will
breakdowns in the international trade arena and global
supply chain effect the operational capacity of U.S.
corporations? Will they lead to increased employment
related problems ?

INTERNATIONAL DISASTER INFORMATION NETWORK: A ONE
STOP RESOURCE FOR DISASTER/RELIEF BASED INFORMATION
CENTERS

Humanitarian Resource Institute is constructing an
International Disaster Information Network to provide
access to Internet based disaster information around
the globe. To date, the network provides links to
thousands of disaster/relief information centers that
currently publish information via the Internet for
government, international and non-governmental
organizations. The objective is to establish direct
relationships with governmental programs in
approximately 172 countries, which will help
facilitate direct requests for information, associated
with preparedness, response and relief.
