The "missinformation in Seattle" part of the subject line may very well
have described the contents of the rant from the supposed reporter who was
covering the WTO conference and riots and made his/her very unprofessional
report forwarded by Lawrence. While I have no doubt that the police in
that city did not do a good job of responsible crowd control (lousy in
fact), I find it pretty far fetched to think that it was a vast government
conspiracy and that the rioters were just "misunderstood," or used as
pawns. I suspect that all that eyewitness stuff was mostly or all B.S.

Of course I view everything extraordinary that is passed for fact on the
internet with a heavy dose of salt.

What I do believe is that the vast majority of the people that were there
to protest the WTO were there for peaceful demonstrations, exercising their
rights of free speech and assembly, and with legitimate suspicions
concerning the supposed benefits of the WTO. Then there were probably some
zealtot types that were there to forment revolution, which played in well
for the local criminal types who just wanted a good excuse to heist a TV.
