I echo Rich Alderfer and to some extent Jim Bronson's thoughts in that I
would like to hear from some farmers on what they are doing to cut
pesticides, cut costs/raise profits, and what else they are doing that
they deem as sustainable practices.

On another issue....There's an article on page 50 of the March, 1994
Popular Science called "Going It Alone On Internet." The gist of the
article tells about private gate-ways to Internet. Farmers who do not
currently have access may find this of some use. If anyone is
interested, I'll take the time to type up the companies they have listed.
Otherwise....... The cheapest access listed is for Portal
Communications, phone (408) 973-9111; sign up fee 19.95, monthly fee
17.95. I don't know a thing about them.
