As I understand the chlorpyrifos risk assessment and discussion the
residues showing up in urine samples are not chlorpyrifos but rather a
metabolite 3,5,6-trichlro-2-pyridinol(3,5,6-TCP). As Dale indicated these
concentrations most of which range between 1 and 8 micrograms of
3,5,6-TCP per liter are very low. Likewise the average exposure levels to
chlorpyrifos estimated from these bio-monitoring studies range from 0.12
to 0.5 micrograms per kilogram per day. Though I could not put my hands
on documentation I think that the registrant, Dow AgroSciences LLC, also
believes that the 3,5,6-TCP in urine may have sources other than
chlorpyrifos and possibly other than pesticides.

Best,

Ted
