This position assists the Southeast HPI Program Manager with developing and
monitoring project groups in Alabama. The Field Assistant will be working in
the areas of community development, organizing training, networking groups
with other service providers, and marketing of agricultural products. The
Field Assistant will assist groups with managing budgets, completing progress
and financial reports for HPI, and give presentations about HPI's work when
requested.
The position requires a Bachelor's degree in an appropriate area, plus 3 to 5
years of experience and knowledge of sustainable agriculture and community
development. Excellent interpersonal skills, written and oral skills,
computer skills, ability to travel extensively and a willingness to live in
Alabama also required. The salary for this position is approximately
$25,000/year with generous benefits.
