public recognition programs for landowners

I am looking for public recognition programs (including registries,
stewardship awards, etc.) that public or private organizations have
initiated to distinguish and honor private landowners whose management
practices are beneficial to wildlife.

So far, I am aware of three private sector programs: The Nature
Conservancy, Friends of the Minnesota Valley (The Minnesota Heritage
Registry Program), and the Minnesota Alliance for Conservation and Resource
Management (River-Friendly Farmer). I am looking for examples that are
applicable to the Midwest.

This information will be used in a resource document that will list
financial incentives available to Midwest farmers for wildlife enhancement
or biodiversity preservation on their land. I would be happy to share the
information I collect with any interested parties.

thanks,

marcos
