Research Assistant I.
The Division of Plant and Soil Sciences at West Virginia University
seeks a full-time research assistant to assist in a three-year research
project to evaluate farming systems for transition from conventional to
organic farming methods. A Bachelor's degree in Agronomy, Horticulture,
Animal Science, or related fields is required. A valid driver's license and
extensive knowledge of soils, bilogy, chemical physical, and biological
analysis, field and laboratory techniques, and comprehensive writing, oral,
and computer skills are among the requirements. Experience in organic farm
or garden production is desired. The successful applicant will work with
faculty in various disciplines and will coordinate field research
activities. The position is available immediately and review of
applications will continue until the position is filled.

West Virignia University is seeking qualified graduate students to
conduct research in methods of transition from conventional to organic
farming systems. Research areas include Field crops agronomy, Horticulture,
Plant pathology, Entomology, Soil science, Weed science, or related fields.
Graduate study leading to a Masters or Ph.D. degree will be considered.
