Lyon Organic Conference:

In Europe and North America, organic agriculture has long enjoyed
a favourable image among consumers and more recently, a growing
interest among farmers and public institutions. Organic
agriculture now confronts growing demand that is driving a rapid
enlargement of the market.

It is now faced with the prospect of profound technical and
organisational changes: the specialisation of production systems,
development of new partnerships between producers, their
suppliers and the surrounding community.

In order to better understand and respond to these changes,
the Institute Superior d'Agriculture Rhone Alpes, with the
collaboration of INRA, Laval University, and the Jacques Cartier Center
have organized a conference to be held in Lyon France December 9.
6,7,8 1999.

The conference will include a variety of speakers from North America and
