French farmers feeding human sewage to livestock

There's a lively food fight developping in Europe after an EU
veterinary report revealed that pig and poultry producers in France
have been routinely including human sewage sludge in their feed. The
same practice, much less widespread, has been occurring with cattle.

Sorta undermines their stand regarding hormones, doesn't it?

Please do not take that to mean that I endorse hormones in mean, or
even oppose the EU ban thereon. It just kinda blows their food "purity"
argument right out of the water, especially coming on the heels of
Belgian contamination scandals and the emerging knowledge of widespread
black market hormone use in French, Belgian, and Dutch livestock
operations.
