We have not solved the problem of how to keep the water in the
waterers from freezing in the hoop shelters for the pigs and the free
stall barns for the dairy.
Our temperatures drop to minus 34 degrees.
Please make suggestions. Please provide contact numbers for
manufacturers ( 800 telephone numbers do not work here in Ukraine ) of
waterers that will work in freezing temperatures or share with us your
makeshift approaches to keeping water in the waterers from freezing
The dairy are kept in groups of 50 therefore a waterer of a size to
satisfy the drinking needs of 50 Hosltein is desirable.
We are still experimenting with numbers of pigs that we intend to
group so variants on waterer sizes will be needed.
