Can you point me towards information on evolution of organic

Can you help me find information on the evolution of organic farming,
principally in CALIFORNIA and other Mediterranean climates, including:


1) The historical and philosophical evolution of organic agriculture
2) Human health, nutrition and food quality
3) Economic and social impacts of organic farming systems.

Any references or other contacts would be greatly appreciated.
