My understanding is that Monsanto is not "yet" the owner of D and P
Land, but not for lack of trying. The hold-up appears to be anti-trust
considerations/scrutiny at the federal level. So, presumably, they
think it is a done deal and are making appropriate presumptions. Why
didn't Shapiro go to the USDA? VERY GOOD QUESTION!

I had not heard that. In fact, just the opposite. The whole point of
USDA investment was to provide a tool for seed companies to acquire yet
more wealth via exerting yet more control over what farmers do. They
have made this quite clear in numerous pronouncements.
I think it is noteworthy that Monsanto et al. are apparently going to
continue to pursue traitor technology, of which terminator is just a
subunit. So, has anything really changed? Is this all PR? Can they
really believe that coming up with this kind of high profile
pronouncement is going to send RAFI et al. home with smiles on their
faces, folding up their investigative tents, and withholding future
scrutiny? Ann
