FALL LEOPOLD LETTER EXPLORES HOT TOPICS

The Fall issue of the Leopold Center for Sustainable Agriculture's
quarterly "Leopold Letter" explores a number of hot agricultural topics,
including the profitability of genetically modified crops, nitrate in
water, and a profile of southwest Iowa farmer Steve Williams looking for a
balance between farm size and the availability of labor. The issue also
offers an in-depth exploration of Aldo Leopold's "A Sand County Almanac" on
the 50th anniversary of its publication. The newsletter is available free
by contacting the Leopold Center, (515) 294-3711; or by visiting its web
site, http://www.leopold.iastate.edu.
