My skeptic alarms were going off bigtime when I heard this report too.

Who really believes the "life science" companies have decided to help solve
the world hunger "problem" by giving away their "humanitarian" technology?

If I recall correctly, RAFI at http://www.rafi.org did a patent search and
found, in addition to what they labeled Terminator Technology, there was a
whole series of technologies they called Traitor Technology. The thrust of
the Traitor Technology was for the plant to grow and yield up to it's
potential, you would have to apply various company supplied sprays no doubt
in conjunction with various company herbicides/insecticides to turn on
genetic switches that control these characteristics.

Whether the "life science" companies control the fertility of the seed or
the yield of the crop, the power is still there to cause some fraction
(determined by them and their control of the seed supply) of the farmer's
income potential to drop the the bottom line of the "life science" company.
Here in the Midwest, there is already some reports that the farmers may
have to plant GMO's next year regardless of market demand because there
will not be enough regular seed to go around.

I agree that corporations are many times inept but I think RAFI blindsided
Monsanto by exposing their purchase of this technology. If RAFI had not
been on their toes, Terminator would be a done deal at least here in the
USA because our corporate controlled media would have never dared raise a
peep. Just reference what happened to the Flordia reports who exposed
problems with rBGH. How long can you live without a job? Mike Miller
