SARE's eight-page annual report, the 1999 SARE Project Highlights, is
available on-line at www.sare.org under the "publications" link. We
encourage you to distribute the Highlights to farmers, ranchers,
agricultural educators and others who may be interested in profitable
alternatives to conventional farming systems.
The publication outlines 12 SARE projects from Connecticut to California
that focus on ways to cut production costs or add value to agricultural
products -- resulting in greater profits for producers. USDA's
Sustainable Agriculture Research and Education (SARE) program has spent
the last 12 years funding projects that seek alternatives to boost
profits, improve natural reosurces and enhance communities.
