I agree with Miss Edna - guineas are fine for insect (including tick)
control, but only if you can stand them. Besides being messy, they are
incredibly annoying. I used to have a neighbor with a flock of about
20. They liked to guard my place as well as his. After a couple of
months I asked my neighbor if he would like some help "harvesting" those
birds. He got tired of 'em too, 'cause a week later they were gone.
