Upcoming Alternative Trade Conference in Kansas City

In late September, officials from a number of North American cities,
transportation offices, and trade delegations will be in Kansas City to
talk about developing Interstate 35 as the "NAFTA Corridor" from
Winnipeg to Mexico (which will pass through Kansas City). No citizen
groups from agriculture, environment, labor, cities etc. were invited to
participate.

So they created their own conference and invited all the people NAFTA
will impact the most! An agenda follows. One panel specifically
focuses on a North American agribusiness -- IBP -- as a case study of
how free trade impacts agriculture, food, labor and the environment.
Bill Heffernan, Mike Callicrate, and Jerry Helmick will be featured on
the panel. Thought some of you might be interested in coming out.
