Yep, I know that a lot of duds work at Cal Poly.

I cannot apologize for them, but just try to get each one kicked out and
replaced with someone better. The world is very much what we make of it.
Until a few months ago, Cal Poly was planning to turn all the farmland
into a golf course. The students fought it long and hard. Eventually,
enough faculty were won over by the opposition, and the project was
abandoned. It only hppened because we took the initiative.

We kicked out the last administration of the Center for Regenerative
Studies. The director is gone, and there's an interim director. The
assistant director is gone, and there's a new assistant director. This
farm manager/land tech was the 3rd loafer. Now he's off to greener
pastures. We need someone like you.

Paul Sommers is a new faculty, and I only know what he seems like. He
really seems like the kind of guy who can get the students thinking about
their environmental impacts, petrochemical free agriculture, and
bioregionality. I met him at the Food Security Conference at UCLA a couple
years ago. Were you there?

Perhaps you would be a good farm manager/land tech. The position works
with the faculty and students to grow food for the kitchen, manage weeds,
maintain the infrastructure, ensure integration of systems, and in short -
run the farm. I would jump for the job, but I'm not available. I'm just a
student, and not quite done...

I encourage you to apply.
Yours,
Fred
