religion on SANet

This has been an interesting little exchange. It is
valuable for us to work through this, because it is an
example of something we don't all agree with and is good
practice to deal tactfully and constructively with
people with different views...
Personally, I did not find Bargyla's post insulting. I
am secure enough in my own views that I am not
threatened or insulted by different ones. I see little
that is constructive in saying someone else's views make
you want to vomit. I also can see how for many people,
their faith is so much a part of how they see the world
that it is difficult or impossible to talk without
bringing in these views.
That being said, I do not believe that dismissing other
views because they do not conform to Biblical prophesy
is particularly appropriate for this list
What do others think? I'd hate to suggest a "no
religion" rule for SANet, but do think we should stick
to the subject matter that brings us all together
How do we resolve issues like this?
