I certainly hope that folks who read my post on establishing kudzu
realize that I am not in any way promoting its spread !!! However it
is still true that, for those that can control it, it has some potential
benefit. It is not, as was suggested, the worst invasive plant that has
been introduced into this country. There are other exotics, and
something about the Everglades rings a bell, that have absolutely no
benefit whatsoever and are very much more destructive. And, like the
post from the retired Extension Specialist, I too take many, many more
calls from people who want to get rid of kudzu than those who wish to
produce it. In fact, counting the post in this forum requesting
information on how to establish kudzu I'd say that in my 22 year career
the ratio is now something like 327 questions on getting rid of it
against 1 to establish it. (:-})

And, to LiseVM

I believe the Latin name for kudzu is something like --- milus aminitus
grassus --- I am sure it has other names, probably most of which are
not to be printed in polite company. ;->
