Graduate Research Position Available
Intercropping for Disease Control
A graduate assistantship is available in the Department of Plant Pathology at North Carolina State
University, Raleigh, to study the use of intercropping corn (maize) with peanuts (groundnuts) to control
early leaf spot of peanuts, caused by the fungus Cercospora arachidicola. Tuition, benefits, and a
stipend will be provided beginning January 2000 for the completion of a Master's degree. The project is a
collaboration between researchers at North Carolina State University and Warren Wilson College in
Asheville, NC.
