I've been following the Paulownia thread and have to smile
at the ability for our discussions to take on wonderful
detail about relatively obscure topics.
But now I have to jump in and put in my two cents for the
Paulownia. In Philadelphia is a beautiful fountain set in
a ring of trees, known as Logan's Circle. It's between the
art museum and city hall. These huge trees have the most
beautiful lavendar flowers in the spring. I was told these
were Pawlonia (sic) trees. I tried to look up the tree
under that spelling and found nothing. So obviously they
must be Paulownia trees.
Now maybe its the fountain, but these trees seem almost
magical. Very graceful and so very beautiful.
