When watching TV I always look for the 'green' like trees, gardens etc.
and less to what the programmmakers meant to show.
The gardens around US (generalizing, sorry) houses I have always seen as
very boaring but I have always thought that the people living there are just
not interrested in plants, trees, birds etc.
If I lived there I know my garden would be alive, very diverse, grassfree and
green, green, green. Being lucky I do have a garden like that, and in summer
it's not possible to see the house from the back or look trough the windows
from the street.
