Did anyone see last nights PBS newshour? There was a blurb on loss of
family farms. I did not hear much discussion similar to what is discussed
on this list. The farmers mentioned it was too hard to stay in business
with the low prices their crops bring. "Experts" mentioned the trend to
large farms like it was just the way it is. Basically it's modern times
that's they way farming will be. Money from government indicated as the
only way to save the farms. That is a very short overview. But it did not
seem to address any real issues. If you were just a city person watching.
I think you would have gleaned "oh little guy wants a hand out 'cause he
can't play with the big guys. Well big guys are feeding me just fine yawn
yawn." Beth
