There seems to be some confusion here about "2,4-D". The term
"2,4-D" almost always means 2,4-diphenoxyacetic acid, not
2,4-dinitrophenol. 2,4-D has a number of salts and esters and is
widely available for home use. It is a broadleaf weed killer.
2,4-dinitrophenol appears to no longer be available in the United
States.
