I am wondering.... to what extent do chains such as Whole Foods, Wild Oats
and
their many subsidiaries actually support small organic farmers? Where are
these stores getting their organic produce? Their websites claim that they
are supporting small farmers by featuring their produce and also by helping
farmers in transition by putting a transition label on certain produce
items.
Where do you see these chains fitting into the movement for sustainable
agriculture in terms of consumer education and also in terms of direct
support for small farmers?
Thanks for your thoughts,
Emily
