This past week-end we went to visit a local farm that we saw publicized in a
Massachusetts Farm Directory. My husband knew of the farm in a blast from
the past sort of way. Well they are a nice family farm and they sell their
own milk added hormone free. They don't claim to be organic but I was so
pleased about the rBGH free. They also sell their own meat. I can buy pork
again. I have been on almost a full pork boycott since reading about the
small farmer being pushed out. I bought a ham steak and a pork roast.
Havn't eaten it yet. Too busy trying to eat the surplus veggies. Well
those nice people are going in my CSA newsletter(because some of my members
have asked about local meat and rBGH free milk) and I hope some of my
members go buy some of their stuff. I feel a little bit better about local
ag. We went into the barn just as 3 yes 3 generations were finishing up the
milking. A bright spot in our ag concerns. Beth
