With regards to wheat straw, price and markets depend on your geographic
location. For example, there is a company in Minnesota that makes particle
board and other products (really cool stuff!) from wheatstraw. I am not in
my office, so I regret that I cannot pass on the name and phone number.
But, check with your state department of agriculture's new markets office
and see what you find. I know a farmer in Oregon is making specialty
building products from straw off of his own land and neighboring acreage.

Having shared the above, I should add that I share Paul Schmitmeyer's view
that whenever you can add organic matter, do it. You have more options if
you have supplementary organic matter to incorporate for the straw loss.
