Hi Beth & Diane,

I forwarded the earlier notice to my local (mostly conventional) farm list &
was forwarded this link by one very smug bio-tech farmer...
http://www.cbs.com/flat/story_170547.html . He discredits John Fagan because
he gains financially from GM testing...I could argue Monsanto gains far more
than John Fagan, but why bother...the stage is set & actually, I'm smiling
too...

I figure I'm infiltrating their conventional ranks a bit...at least they're
going to have to acknowledge that it IS an issue - after all, CBS is
mainstream. Really, I wouldn't expect the farmers to change the current U.S.
situation...it will have to come from the public, as it is happening
abroad...the consumers will have the final say. Probably would be better to
forward such things to email lists that cater to mothers raising babies and
such. (I did do this once when a GE baby formula post came across Sanet by
the way!)

I'm grateful for the CBS piece...not ideal, but a toehold in the public is
much better than a foothold amoungst farmers & agriculturists!
