feeding spent grains to livestock

Hey folks -

We are starting an organic microbrewery, integrated with our farm. We
intend to feed the spent grains (post brewery use) to our livestock, and to
compost what we can't feed. Does anyone out there have any information on
whether spent grains would have a negative effect on ruminants, chickens or
pigs? Basically, spent grains are what's left after the brewery has boiled
the cracked malted barley in water for about 1-2 hours. The brewery
captures only about 4% of the available protein and many of the B vitamins,
but I don't know what the mineral content would be like. If anyone has used
spent grains to feed livestock, please let me know how it worked out!

Thanks everyone,

Rebecca
