Connecticut Farmland Preservation Conference
June 10th
Wesleyan University
Middletown, Connecticut
This is a one day conference devoted to local and statewide strategies
to preserve Connecticut's farms and farmland. It is for anyone who wants
to know more about protecting some of the most fertile soil in the
Northeast and the state's dwindling number of farms. Registration is
$30 and includes lunch and the Conference's own "Connecticut Farmland
Preservation Toolkit", a substantial notebook compilation of model
preservation information and methods. The Conference is sponsored by
the Connecticut Food Policy Council and co-sponsored by the American
Farmland Trust, Trust for Public Land, Conn. Rural Development Council,
UConn College of Agriculture, Eastern Conn. RC&DA, Conn. Farm Bureau,
Conn. Dept. of Ag., Land Conservation Coalition of Conn., and the
Hartford Food System.
