I heard the discussion of this research today on WOI radio, the ISU public
radio station. They mentioned taking the Bt covered leaves from the field
and washing off half the pollen. I didn't catch why they washed half off
but the fact they ended up with 19 % mortality at "half dose" and the
Nature article saw 44 % mortality at "full dose" even given how
unquantitifed the "dose" is makes me suspect they are on to something real.
