GRANT WRITER POSITION AVAILABLE
The Community Alliance with Family Farmers (CAFF) - a non-profit based in
Davis, California - is working to build a movement of rural and urban
communities to foster family-scale agriculture that cares for the land,
sustains local economies and promotes social justice. CAFF seeks a highly
motivated individual with grant writing experience to coordinate
grantseeking.
DESCRIPTION OF THE POSITION: The Grant Writer oversees the development and
production of grant proposals, government contracts and narrative reports
to funders. Responsibilities include writing and coordinating the editing
of grants, contracts and reports; identifying new sources of funding;
developing and maintaining relationships with funders and maintaining
funding files. This is a full-time position, based in the Davis, California
office.
QUALIFICATIONS: Excellent writing, editing and organizational skills are
required. Previous experience in fundraising and grantwriting desired.
Ability to work both independently and as a member of a team. Ability to
work well under deadlines. Proficiency in MS Word, Pagemaker and Excel.
Willingness to travel. Familiarity with sustainable agriculture and rural
community issues would be useful.
SALARY AND BENEFITS: Starting salary is $24,000 - $30,000, depending on
experience. CAFF provides a benefits package that includes three weeks of
paid vacation per year, personal leave, health insurance, holidays and
