I understand what you are saying, and it kind of adds to a question that
I've had about GMO's. It seems that the US is usually one of the last
countries to approve new drugs, yet here we are leading the forefront with
GMO's. The countries that are quicker to legalize drugs (pharmaceuticals,
not the illegal variety) seem to be the ones resisting GMO's and other
agricultural technology that the US wants us all to embrace. Why is this?
Someone suggested to me that perhaps it's because other countries don't have
the economical investment in the ag. industry that the US does. It scares
me to think that ag. companies have more "pull" than the FDA does. Why
hasn't the USDA stepped in to demand more legitimate research on ag.
"technology"?
