Position: Part-time Instructor in Agricultural Ecology
School of Nutrition Science and Policy, Tufts University, Medford, Mass.

The School of Nutrition Science and Policy at Tufts University will hire a
part-time instructor for the fall 1999 semester (September 1-December 15)
to teach one course in Agricultural Ecology appropriate for graduate and
advanced undergraduate students. The course should introduce the physical
attributes of agricultural systems, basic ecological principles which
affect agricultural processes, and the ecological consequences of food
production alternatives. The instructor will be expected to organize at
least three field trips to explore aspects of agricultural production and
associated ecological problems in this region. Class logistics (evening
or day, once-a-week or twice-a-week) are flexible. Payment will be
commensurate with experience.

The School of Nutrition Science and Policy brings together biomedical,
social, political and behavioral scientists to conduct research,
educational, and community service programs to improve the nutritional
health and well-being of people throughout the world. The course in
Agricultural Ecology is offered through the Center on Agriculture, Food
and Environment (CAFE), which administers a degree-granting program at the
M.S. and Ph.D. levels, research projects, programmatic initiatives, and
community service projects on problems with, and alternatives to, domestic
and international food-supply systems.

Qualifications:

Required:
* earned doctorate in ecology or an appropriate environmental or
agricultural science; doctoral candidates may be considered.
* university teaching experience.
