Hello to all...
I just found a new article that dsicusses a topic that we have discussed
before on SANET i.e Does composting prior to soil application conserve
more or less C than direct application of raw organics ?

The last sentence of the abstract states " Comparing C mineralization that
takes place in soil and during composting, it can be concluded that
composting is the best way to obtain maximum C stabilization..."

Here is the bibliographic info...

Bernal, M.P., Sanchez-Monedero, M.A., Paredes, C. and A. Roig. 1998.
Carbon mineralization from organic wastes at different composting stages
during incubation with soil. Agriculture, Ecosystems and Environment
69:175-189.

I have not read the whole article as of yet...
