tillage after dark

During discussions in our local sustainable/organic group there have been
people suggesting that the final tillage operation should be done in late
evening or after dark. Weed seeds are light sensitive for germination, and
there will be fewer weeds germinating if the tillage is done in the dark?
Has there been any replicated studies done in this area? Also any farmer
experience that could be shared?
Thank you
