Sorry to state the obvious, but the kinds of answers you receive to your
question about education may be skewed by asking it over an internet
list-serve. Our co-op certainly contains its share of liberal-arts college
escapees, but overall we've got a very interesting mix of backgrounds, and
nearly half are Amish and Mennonite growers.

I know that it wasn't supposed to be a "scientific survey," but I worry
that your "results," whether or not they are presented as anecdotal, could
reinforce a certain stereotype that exists about what "kind" of farmer is
the "kind" to practice sustainable agriculture. From my limited
perspective, it really does take all kinds.
